Subject: December 2011 Cleanup
Hello all,

I think it is about time this forum gets a good cleanup. I'm going to be deleting the unused parts and merging the underused areas.

Llikely to be deleted: Vivifire Code Submissions, Other Languages, WMLiberty Features and Bugs, Trusted Members Center, Sandbox

Likely to be merged:
  • General Discussions + Off-topic Discussions
  • Windows Registry + Extreme Programming
  • Internationalization + Accessibility Issues & Critiques

Comments and suggestions for new names are welcome.

I believe that the umbrella terms for internationalization and accessibility are "inclusive design" or "universal design". I'd probably go with one of those.

I've started the process. Please let me know if anything seems out of place.

Subject: Re: December 2011 Cleanup
Maybe WR + EP becomes "Area 5+1"? Or would that be too cliched?

Subject: Re: December 2011 Cleanup
That's a nice one 8)

I have just finished the final merger. Please let me know if you spot anything that looks out of place.

Thanks to Stefan for your feedback.

Subject: Re: December 2011 Cleanup
Area 5+1, just thought abut this once more, may be Area 5T1.

Area 5+1 ... area five-plus-one
Area 5T1 ... area five-tee-one
Area 51 ... area fifty-one

So the second would be more pronounced like the last one.

It had to sink in a bit ;)

Subject: Re: December 2011 Cleanup
The point of using 5+1 is that 5+1=6, as in Bay Six.

Native English speakers would likely be perplexed by 5T being equated to 50 -- in pseudo-IPA: ['faIv'ti:] and ['fIfti], respectively.

Your explanation allows the reader to put any meaning into the caption, which seems to be good.

Merry Christmas.
